Fetch Tiger – ‘Movie’

‘Movie’ is the latest single to be released by the divine London based musician, Fetch Tiger (AKA Lorenzo Montali).

The memorable riffs and catchy choruses engulf the listener from the first listen. Dreamy pop at its finest, we are sure Montali is destined to please existing fans and win an army of new ones with this latest release.

The single delves into the singer’s realisation that his once vital need to pretend is fading. ’Movie’ is a plea to himself to grasp it before it goes. Lyrics such as, “A disappearing act that was so good, I couldn’t find it in the old woods. Do you ever pretend anymore?” are relatable and engaging with the listener.

‘Movie’ was inspired, in part, by the summers Montali and his twin brother spent making movies in the heat of the South Florida sun. This feeling is reflected in the music, and the jingly guitars emanate sunshine into the song. The punchy drums do the same while the characterful vocals add new colours to the single.

Montali started his musical life as a drummer, and his injections of creative rhythms feature within the track. He cites his inspiration as coming from contemporary indie artists like Andy Shauf, Whitney, Stella Donnelly, Sam Evian, and cornerstones like Nick Drake and Bob Dylan. These artists can be felt within the music but make no mistake, Montali makes a sound all of his own.

We loved the mix, master and production of the single. It keeps the dreamy nature of the song and enhances its integrity. This track was superbly recorded at Noatune Studios (Robinson, Bryde) in east London in 2019. It was recorded about a year after Montali relocated from San Francisco to London.

Make sure you add ‘Movie’ to your weekend playlist, you will not be disappointed!
