Gefahrgeist – ‘Graceless’
Gefahrgeist is a brilliant Scottish electronic pop duo. Their latest single ‘Graceless’ is a dreamy pop anthem in the making. A must-hear release this winter 2020.
‘Graceless’ slowly swims into the sonic landscape. Soulful and warm vocals enter and masterfully guide the piece along. As the beat drops, the single takes a new direction and is thoroughly engaging.
We adore the bass, which is melodic and driving. The keys add their unique colour to the piece, and the subtle percussion adds extra texture to the song too. There is a beautiful harmony achieved between the instrumentation, and a magical vibe blesses the track. In addition, we adore the rise and fall in the instrumentation; it pulls in and out beautifully. Simply an excellent arrangement.
Gefahrgeist is comprised of band members Fiona Liddell and Niall Rae. Liddell is a singer-songwriter from Glasgow and Rae is a producer and bassist from Aberdeen. They are clearly excellent musicians in their own right, but when they come together, magic happens! Gefahrgeist is an exciting and dynamic duo who are making waves with this latest release.
Collaboration
Esther Swift has joined the duo on harp for this excellent track. In addition, the single has been mastered by Phil McBride, and the artwork is provided by Tyler Andrew Mortimer of Blank Page Digital Art. The team have done a brilliant job in creating a piece of art that sets Gefahrgeist apart from the crowd.
We are big fans of Gefahrgeist. Their sound is visionary and unparalleled to anything we have heard lately. We are sure that 2021 is going to be a big year for this superb duo and we very much look forward to hearing what will come next.
