Jamison Wake is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer from Brooklyn, NY. His magnificent latest single, ‘Racing Heart’ was released officially on 29th May 2020.

A beautiful acoustic guitar opens the release, accompanied by atmospheric synths. Jamison Wake’s smooth and enticing vocals guide the single along effortlessly. We loved the distorted electric guitar in the background, it creates texture and colour within the piece. The chorus is catchy and memorable with a melodic and welcomingly repetitive hook. The mix, production and master of the single is excellent too. Each of the instruments has its own space in the mix, and everything works as a cohesive piece of music.

Jamison Wake says about the release, “I wrote it while suffering some mental health stuff years back, and it seems fitting for now, for all of you in mental health month and the Coronavirus anxiety. It’s an intimate and textured song about the fear of life and death, wrestling with angels and demons, going to the depths and source of yourself: where there is good news.” The release coincides with the global Coronavirus pandemic and mental health month. We believe many people will find solace in ‘Racing Heart’ and this is a big part of Jamison Wake’s charm.

‘Racing Heart’ was written, performed, recorded, and mixed at Jamison Wake’s home over the last two years. Mark Isakson added electric guitar, and Jeremy McDonald of Mason Jar Music mastered it. Together the team have done an excellent job in creating an indie-pop single that is superb at every level.

So make sure you add ‘Racing Heart’ to your weekend playlist. Jamison Wake is an exciting artist who is making music with a message.
