Justin Llamas & Covinos – ‘Melancholy’

Antioch-based artist Justin Llamas has released the magnificent single ‘Melancholy’ with producer Covinas in October 2020. It is an electronic-pop release with a big heart.

Atmospheric synths open the release before Justin Llamas’s stunning vocals breakthrough. His vocals are warm and inviting and create a wonderful texture within the piece.

The chorus is catchy and intoxicating. It will have the audience reaching for the repeat button. In addition, the synth riffs are memorable too, and ‘Melancholy’ is a track which is putting Justin Llamas and Covinos on the music map.

We adore the production of ‘Melancholy’, every part of the detailed backing instrumentation has its own space in the mix. The use of double-tracked vocals adds extra weight to the single too.

The duo says about the release, “The song is inspired by a true break up, and the sounds used in it have been carefully chosen to tell that story.” They continue, “The single was originally recorded and produced from our home studios. The additional vocal recording was done in Fremont, CA.”

Justin Llamas and Covinos live 3000 miles away, but this did not stop them producing this brilliant single. They met in an internet music class and instantly hit it off.

Justin Llamas provides the vocals while Covinos is the producer. Their collaboration on ‘Melancholy’ is simply wonderful, and we very much hope that further collaborations are on the cards in the future.

We can not recommend ‘Melancholy’ highly enough. It is a song which needs to be heard to be fully appreciated. Justin Llamas and Covinos are excellent musicians separately, but when they come together, magic happens.

So make sure you add ‘Melancholy’ to your weekday playlist. You will not be disappointed!
