La Roboká – ‘Danse Macabre’

Berlin-based band La Roboká are back with their superb latest single ‘Danse Macabre’. It is another captivating release from this charismatic and thrilling duo.

Lady K is a classic soprano singer, and Robulus is a film composer. Together, they have created a unique piece of art with ‘Danse Macabre’. Firstly, Lady K’s operatic vocals open the release. The backing instrumentation grows with the single and evolves with the listener.

Secondly, we loved the layered vocals which feature stunning harmonies and atmospheric melodies. The track takes unexpected twists and turns, keeping the listener on their toes. In addition, the chorus is catchy, and it stays with the listener long after the music has ended.

La Roboká describes themselves, “Meet Lady K & Robulus. Who are they exactly? Who knows for sure? Lady K has an ongoing history of opera stages. Robulus not only composes film music but is also working as a director. They knew each other for a long time until they saw their potential during a film production they both worked on.”

The band have been releasing music for the last 18 months. They say, “With La Roboká they share their common interest in exciting, danceable, captivating music and putting on an extra layer of theatrics. They jump between genres, give you an emotional anthem to sing along and then surprise you with an ecstatic danceable electro-pop tune.”

There is also a stunning and characterful video which accompanies the release. It features German actor Pierre Sanoussi-Bliss and continues the innovative feel that the duo infinitely emanates. In conclusion, make sure you check out ‘Danse Macabre’ this weekend.
