Leisure Chief – ‘Cosmic Comics’

‘Cosmic Comics’ is the superb brand new album from Orlando-based band Leisure Chief. It is a jazz-funk release with a whole lot of soul.

‘Saturday’ opens the album and the smooth jazz feel is apparent from the get-go. It is a wonderful introduction to this excellent album. We adore the melodic bass and guitars which are melodic and filled with colour. The layered vocals are scrumptious too!

The title-track has a dream-like quality to it and thoroughly intoxicates the audience. The rich and soulful vocals fill the sonic spectrum and inject their unique colour into the piece.

We enjoyed ‘Window’, the gorgeous horns and driving rhythm section have been mixed superbly. ‘Grumps’ closes this magnificent release and leaves the listener reaching for the repeat button. Leisure Chief are a band who need to be heard!

We advise listening to this album in one sitting. It is a release which seamlessly flows from track to track and comes together to form one solid body of work. So turn down the lights, turn up the volume and get lost in ‘Cosmic Comics’.

Innovative

Released at the end of January 2021, ‘Cosmic Comics’ is available now! We are so thrilled to have discovered this driving and enigmatic band and look forward to seeing how their careers will progress in the future. They are an innovative band who are excellent musicians separately; however, magic happens when they come together!

We thoroughly recommend adding ‘Cosmic Comics’ to your playlist this week. Leisure Chief have a bright future ahead of them, and we know that they are set to make waves in 2021.

‘Cosmic Comics’ is available to stream from the link below, enjoy!
