We caught up with Glasgow based artist Lorenzo for an interview, following the release of his excellent single, ‘EL CIELO’.
Hi Lorenzo, tell us about yourself?
My names Laurence Adam Ward, I use the name Lorenzo for producing. I live in Glasgow, Scotland and was born/raised here.
What is your songwriting process?
With my songwriting/producing process, I tend to put my emotions and how I feel in that particular moment into my project. I can go days where I don’t work on anything and then one night where I can create numerous tracks. The mix/master then comes after that when the creative process is over.
Tell us about your latest release?
‘EL CIELO’ was a project I was working on for a couple of weeks. It translates to HEAVEN, and the intention was to allow listeners to travel momentarily to their idea of heaven. I produce my music to allow people to escape their reality as I know life can certainly be tough.
What message do you think your music conveys to your fans?
I hope my music conveys that life can be amazing and you can turn it around just like I have. I struggled massively with my mental health the past few years, with numerous hospital visits and scary moments, I use my music as an outlet and seeing the feedback and having people enjoy it. Well, there’s no feeling quite like it.
Who are your musical influences?
My musical influences can vary quite a lot. A few that come to mind are Roger Sanchez, Maceo Plex, Tame Impala, Moby & The Black Madonna. There are a lot more I can name though.

What do you think are the biggest obstacles for bands/artists today?
The toughest obstacle for artists today is definitely getting your music shared and heard, once it does though the feeling is indescribable.
What are your hopes for the next two years?
My hopes for the next two years is to continue to grow and perhaps start playing my music live. Thank you.
