Lost Like Lions – ‘The Devil That You Know’

The superb New York-based band Lost Like Lions have released their highly anticipated EP, ‘The Devil That You Know’. Released officially today 12th June 2020, it is a must hear release this weekend!

‘Something Else’ opens the EP and sets the scene beautifully as to what is to come. The chorus is driving and emotive with a catchy hook which will have you reaching for the repeat button. ‘Run Away’ is compelling from the get-go. It evolves with the listener and is an engaging piece of art. ‘Enemies’ is another memorable song which leaves the listener wanting more!

Lost Like Lions Talk About The Release

Lost Like Lions say about the release, “(We) always loved the phrase ‘The Devil That You Know’. However, now so more then ever we feel like it can be so much more relatable. At work, you’re always wondering, ‘Am I doing the right thing?’ Should I move on to greener pastures, can I really stand that d*ckhead at work who I sit right next to? Are you better off with ‘The Devil That You Know’, and is the grass really greener on the other side?”

When asked about notable gigs, Lost Like Lions say, “In our year and a half of being together, we have opened up for The Ataris for their 15th-anniversary show of ‘So long, Astoria’ in our hometown of Buffalo, New York. And have had our songs played on our local alternative rock radio stations in Buffalo 103.3 The Edge, and 107.7 Alternative Buffalo.”

Citing their influences as coming from Jimmy Eat World, Death Cab For Cutie, and Sugarcult, we can hear these artists coming through in the music. However, make no mistake, Lost Like Lions are making music all of their own. We were lucky enough to catch up with Lost Like Lions for an interview, check it out here.

The EP was recorded with Chris Flury in Brooklyn and Johnny Helms in Buffalo, New York. Together, the team have created a wonderful EP that needs to be heard. Make sure you add it to your weekend playlist!
