MAIA – ‘Bad Guy’
London based artist MAIA has released the stunning single,’Bad Guy’, in September 2020. It is an indie-pop release that needs to be heard!
An intriguing opening opens the single. As the beat drops, the textured backing instrumentation lays a solid foundation for MAIA’s rich vocals to shine. She effortlessly guides the song along. The bass is melodic, and the guitars add further colour into the piece.
MAIA’s voice is filled with warmth and passion. She is able to convey emotion to the audience, and this is a big part of her charm. We love the chorus, which is engaging and compels the listener further. ‘Bad Guy’ needs to be on your playlist this autumn!
MAIA says, “I feel many women find themselves in a situation where they are left to make the difficult decisions.” She continues, “The song is about taking ownership of those situations and being strong enough to play the part of the ‘Bad Guy’. I want listeners to feel empowered, to be reassured that being the ‘Bad Guy’ can be a positive statement of both resilience and inner strength.”
Production and Mastering
We absolutely love the production of ‘Bad Guy’; it adds a new dimension to the piece. It has been superbly produced by Brazil-based producer Luis Calil. Also, it has been mastered by Frederik Dejongh, who is based in Belgium. Together the team have done an excellent job in creating a single that will stand the test of time.
