Maisyn – ‘Cool Grl’
Los Angeles-based artist Maisyn has released her stunning debut single ‘Cool Grl’, in January 2021. It is an indie-pop single with a big heart.
A textured beat opens the release. Warming synths enter, and the scene is set for Maisyn’s rich and welcoming vocals to enter. We adore the evolution of the instrumentation, which slowly grows as the piece progresses.
Maisyn’s voice has a breathy quality which adds a unique colour to the piece. She gracefully takes the reins of the song and the audience are left fully engaged.
As the beat drops, the single is in full flow. ‘Cool Grl’ is a song which sets Maisyn above the crowd, and we are so excited to have discovered such a talented and exciting artist.
Maisyn says about the release, “Everybody loves and yearns; it’s just a matter of who will admit it or not. For most of my life, I desperately wanted to be the ‘cool grl’ because I was afraid that wanting to be wanted would turn me into a cliche.” She continues, “At this point, I’d rather be emotional and honest than nonchalant and bottled up.”

Maisyn worked with her producer and Grammy-nominated engineer and friend Joey Messina-Doering (‘Women in Music Pt. III’, HAIM) on this superb release. Together, the team has crafted a single set to propel Maisyn into the ‘Artists To Watch’ list this 2021.
So make sure you make a note of the name Maisyn. It may be the first time you have heard it, but we are sure that it will not be the last.
