Megan Core – ‘Twenty Something’
Megan Core is a musician hailing from Byron Bay. Her latest single ‘Twenty Something’ has been released in June 2020 and is an enthralling listen.
Infectious drums open the release with a punchy and enticing beat. Bass and a guitar enter, and the scene is set for Megan Core’s stunning vocals. The upbeat and catchy nature of the track is evident from the get-go, quickly accompanied by a catchy chorus too. The lyrics are fun and will resonate with Core’s audience. Citing her influences as Courtney Barnett, Paul Kelly and Missy Higgins, Megan Core holds her own with these big names.
Core’s Comments
Core says about the release, “I wrote this song for my mates, about our fast-paced, over-caffeinated lives. As we run around through our early-twenties trying to keep up with the never-ending race to achievement; spending every last dollar to show face at all the social outings, attempting to figure out who and what we love and just ending up at the same pub every week.”

‘Twenty Something’ was recorded by Megan Core, Jake Fly (bass), and Matt Field (drums). Sean Cook of Novotone Studios completed the mixing, and Jack Nigro has superbly mastered it. Together the team have done an excellent job of creating a single that is catchy and will stand the tests of time. ‘Twenty Something’ will please existing Core fans while winning her an army of new ones too.
Conclusion
Megan Core is an exciting artist who is destined for big things in 2020. Previously she has supported Kim Churchill & Tori Forsyth as well as playing the Bitter and Twisted Festival (2019). We thoroughly recommend ‘Twenty Something’ and look forward to hearing what she will do next.
