Midnight Filter – ‘Marionette’

Midnight Filter is an alternative-rock duo hailing from Bristol. Their latest single ‘Marionette’ is an indie-rock classic in the making.

A wonderful vibe opens the single. An electric guitar and melodic bass lay the stoic foundations for the drums to drop. As the vocals enter, the song is in full flow.

There are luscious texture and colour that runs throughout ‘Marionette’. We adore the layered vocals that create texture in the single. They entice the audience in and holds their attention effortlessly.

‘Marionette’ takes unexpected twists and turns that add interest and intrigue into the track too. Midnight Filter know how to write a single, which will have the listener reaching for the repeat button!

Midnight Filter says about the release, “The song is about abuse of power in the modern age. Speaking about lies, manipulation and greed from governments and big companies, police brutality and the feeling of not being in control.”

The duo continues, “Often, it can feel like nobody is listening or hearing you. The song aims to push people to not give up speaking their mind but also to help others recognise the abuse of power that has been seen recently.”

Single Out Now

Released on the 5th March ‘Marionette’ is available to stream from the link below today. It is a song with a message, and the band are using their platform to highlight issues that need to be discussed.

Midnight Filter is a band that is making music that needs to be heard, and we very much recommend checking them out. We know that the 2020s are going to be a significant decade for the duo’s music, and we very much look forward to hearing what they will do next.
