Los Angeles based artist Minolta has released the superb single ‘Runaway’ today, 19th June 2020. It is an indie-pop song that will win Minolta an army of new fans.

Firstly, Minolta’s sumptuous vocals are on display from the get-go. There is a melancholic vibe in the beat, which is a beautiful juxtaposition to Minolta’s rich voice. The energy and passion in her performance are mesmerising. In addition, we adore the rise and fall in the backing instrumentation, which adds texture within the piece.

In addition, we love the Trapp feeling in the high hats that bring a unique colour to ‘Runaway’. Also, the mix, production and master of the song are sublime. Furthermore, every part of the instrumentation has its own space in the mix, and a beautiful balance is reached. ‘Runaway’ truly is an exciting release.

Minolta created ‘Runaway’ with producer Sebastian Pringle (Crystal Fighters). The duo has a diverse range of influences that feed into the single, culminating in an innovative and unique release. There is also a dynamic video which accompanies the release. Directed by Andrew Dyck, the video for ‘Runaway’ compliments the music and compels the audience.

Minolta is an Eritrean-American artist born in Queens, NY. She moved to Southern Pines, NC as a teenager, where she began playing the guitar. Moreover, she performed with various indie bands including Black Peter Group at art collectives and warehouses and upon arriving in Los Angeles, CA, she competed on America’s Next Top Model and ranked in the Top 20.
