One Cure For Man – ‘Humble’
One of our favourite artists is back! One Cure For Man has released the excellent Americana single ‘Humble’, in December 2020. It is a brilliant song with a big heart.
An upbeat groove opens the single. One Cure For Man’s soulful voice fills the sonic spectrum. We love the riff-filled guitars which instantly inject their unique colour into the piece.
The chorus is catchy too and stays with the listener long after the music has ended. We adore the versatility in One Cure For Man’s vocal performance; it is filled with colour and a luscious texture. Lyrically, ‘Humble’ is relatable and reaches out to touch the listener. A wonderful composition.
One Cure For Man says about the release, “The song is about moving on after death whilst remembering and learning from the past.” He continues, “My dad unfortunately died very suddenly at age 67 in 2017, and I bought my parents’ old house which they lived in for 25 years, as I did until I was 19. Losing a parent young has undoubtedly made me aware of my own mortality to an almost heightened sense.” Deeply relatable, ‘Humble’ needs to be heard to be fully appreciated.

One Cure For Man (AKA James Parkinson) is a special artist. Parkinson cites his influences on the single as coming from artists such as R.E.M, Bruce Springsteen, The Smiths, War on Drugs and Ryan Adams. We can hear these muses coming through on ‘Humble’ but make no mistake, James Parkinson is making music all of his own!
