Painted On – ‘Cloud*chasers’ EP
Hailing from New York, Painted On have released the magnificent EP ‘Cloud*chasers’ this January 2021. It is an indie-pop release which is destined to be a hit.
‘FALL’ opens the release, and it instantly fills the sonic spectrum with texture. The gorgeous vocals enter, and the audience is fully engaged. We adore the dreamy feel to the opening track, which sets the scene beautifully.
The title track is a standout song. A wonderfully picked acoustic guitar is mesmerising. The unpredictable chordal progressions keep the listener on their toes too. We love the layered vocals which are captivating and shine in the intelligent arrangement of the song.
‘Wine Wandering Mind’ features an absorbing melody which will have the listener reaching for the repeat button. ‘Carousel’ closes the release and leaves the listener wanting more!
We adore the poetical lyrics which bring the EP to life. The duo say, “The lyrics – with topics ranging from global warming and the fragility of life to family history and creative frustration – immerse the audience in uncertainty but ultimately take us on a journey towards self-discovery and worth.”
Lockdown
‘Cloud*chasers’ was composed during Lockdown 2020. It was also self-recorded and produced by the band. They have created a piece of art which is rich in heart and will win the duo an army of new fans.
Painted On are comprised of multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter and producer Anthony Farina and singer/songwriter Hillary Capps. Together the duo has created an EP which is cinematic and compelling. It is a release which feels timeless and one which needs to be heard to be fully appreciated.
We can not recommend ‘Cloud*chasers’ highly enough. Painted On are independent artists from every aspect of this stunning release and have created music that will stand the test of time.
