Paul Oska – ‘So Long, My Lonely Ghost’

Musician Paul Oska has released his superb five-track EP, ‘So Long, My Lonely Ghost’. It is an indie release that we are sure will win the hearts of its listeners.

‘The Gathering’ opens the EP with Oska’s charming vocals. The acoustic guitar shines through, and the intoxicating strings add wonderful texture within the piece. We adored the title track; its many layers of instrumentation work cohesively together, creating colour and intrigue.

‘Smother’, and ‘Long Lives Are Lost’ bring their unique character to the EP too, taking new paths and keep the listener on their toes. Moreover, the closing song, ‘They’re Going To Get You In The End’ leaves the listener wanting more!

Accompanying Musicians

In addition to Paul Oska on vocals, and acoustic guitar, Oska has been joined by excellent musicians to complete the release. They include Claire Victoria Roberts – violin, Margit van der Zwan – cello, Ed Harrison – double bass, and Bruce Renshaw – drums. Moreover, ‘So Long, My Lonely Ghost’ has been recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Andy Ross at Astar Studios in Manchester, UK. As a result, the team have done an excellent job in creating a piece of art that will stand the test of time.

It has been an eight-year gap since Oska ‘s last release. ‘Urban Hermit’ was released in 2012, and that followed ‘I Think I’m Dead’ in 2007. ‘So Long, My Lonely Ghost’ has seen an early release on 22nd June 2020 on Bandcamp and Soundcloud. It is available more widely on 1st July 2020.

We can not recommend this wonderful EP highly enough. The wait for new music from Oska was well worth it, and we look forward to hearing what he will do next.
