Premises – ‘Surfacer’
Hailing from Boston, Premises is an alternative-rock duo that has released the brilliant EP ‘Surfacer’ this November 2020. It is a magnificent release that needs to be heard!
The title track opens the release. It is instantly engaging and captures the audience’s attention effortlessly. The breathy vocals are wonderful and masterfully guide the single along. It is a song which evolves with the listener, and the edgy percussion lifts the track to another level.
We enjoyed ‘In Flux’. From the get-go, the kick drum feels like the heartbeat of the track. The main melody is terrific and will have the listener reaching for the repeat button.
‘Still Life’ is hard-hitting from the beginning. It is our favourite track on the EP. The layered instrumentation is filled with colour and texture, and they inject their unique tone into the piece. ‘Out of Frame’ closes the release and leaves the audience wanting more.
This is an album which is designed to be digested in one sitting. It is a masterpiece from the beginning to the end. Premises are making dynamic and engaging music, and ‘Surfacer’ is a wonderful introduction to the band.
About The Duo
Premises is comprised of multi-instrumentalist/singer Timothy Stefaniak and professional mixing engineer Dylan Ganz. They are both talented individuals who have over 50 tracks in the pipeline. This dynamic and prolific duo is just getting started, and we look forward to hearing what is to come next.
