The brilliant band Primes have released their latest single, ‘Dreamer And I’ on the 22nd November 2019. It is a huge sounding song filled with catchy melodies and infectious rhythms.
An electric guitar mixed to one side of the sonic spectrum opens the song. Big drums, bass and vocals swiftly accompany the guitar, and the song finds its formidable groove.
Unusual twists and turns await the listener, offering intriguing surprises along the way. The main vocal is filled with texture and emotion in its performance. Layered vocals from different singers appear and submit their own character, making the piece unique and colourful.
We adore the chorus that feels like an anthem. It is big and imposing, leaving the listener reaching for the repeat button. The melodic bass and driving drums provide the foundation of the track and keep its intensity throughout. The ending has a staccato and upbeat feel, leaving the listener wanting more.
Primes say about the release, “People often feel although they don’t achieve enough and compare themselves to others, especially with the involvement of social media” lead singer, Ollie Kitchen, explains. “‘Dreamer And I’ looks at the mental health issues of this mindset and contains a message of hope. Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams and know that tomorrow is a new day”.
2019 has been a fast-paced year for Primes, having played festivals such as Vibration Festival, Butefest, Gig In The Goil and Part At The Palace. They have also shared bills alongside FEEDER, The Coral, and The Charlatans. We are sure 2020 is going to be more of the same for this exciting band. Make sure you check out ‘Dreamer And I’ today!
