Pulse Park – ‘Phonac Music’

Canadian-based band Pulse Park has released the excellent album ‘Phonac Music’ this April 2022. It is an indie-rock release that needs to be on your new music playlist this week.

‘Antibody’ opens the release to a jangly guitar and driving beat. It sets the scene beautifully as to what is to come. ‘Sine Wave’ is a stand out track that features compelling melodies, layered instrumentation and staccato percussion.

We adore ‘Strange Matter’; it is a relatable song with captivating lyrics that take the listener on a journey. In addition, the vocal performance is filled with character and charm.

‘Factory Fire’ is another stand-out track that is memorable and melodic in equal measures. Finally, ‘A Constant’ closes the release and has the audience reaching for the repeat button.

Band Members

Pulse Park comprises of band members Magnusson (guitar/vocals), Frank Hagen (bass) and Oliver Polastri (drums). They are clearly excellent musicians in their own right, but when they come together, magic happens!

Influences

Pulse Park cites their influences as coming from artists such as Dinosaur Jr., Lemonheads and Cloud Nothings. Pulse Park stands shoulder to shoulder with any of these bands. Their sound is thoroughly addictive and a refreshing perspective to 90’s rock.

Interestingly, Pulse Park were only founded in 2020, with their first EP being released in 2021. After hearing ‘Phonac Music’, we can not wait to check out the band’s previous release too.
