Rachel Gleddie – ‘Shallow’

Rachel Gleddie is a musician hailing from Edmonton. Her latest single ‘Shallow’ is an Americana classic in the making.

A gorgeously picked acoustic guitar opens the release. A slide guitar soon accompanies it, and Gleddie’s rich and powerful voice enters. She masterfully takes the lead of the single. As the beat and layered vocals hit, the song is in full flow, and Gleddie has her audience in the palm of her hand.

Lyrically, ‘Shallow’ is relatable and honest. There is a genuine quality in the lyrics that connect Gleddie to her audience. We are sure that ‘Shallow’ will please existing Gleddie fans while winning her an army of new ones too. She is an artist who is just getting started, and we can not wait to see where she will go next.

Gleddie says about the release, “This song is an encouragement to fill your life with people who care about you, challenge you, and love you as you are (and to not pay attention to the ones that don’t).”

‘Shallow’ was recorded at Velveteen Studios in Edmonton Alberta and produced by Bradley Simons, Brandon Unis, and Brad Smith. Together the team have done an excellent job in creating a piece of art that will stand the test of time.

Previously, Gleddie has performed at Heart of the City Fest, Skirts A Fire fest, NextFest, and Animal Attraction. She also rated in the top ten in the United Way Voice songwriting contest. From hearing ‘Shallow’ we can see why!

Rachel Gleddie is an artist to watch. She is innovating alt-country and is due to drop her highly anticipated debut EP ‘Silhouette’ soon. We very much look forward to hearing her EP. Until then, check out ‘Shallow’ from the link below.
