Rachel Hill – ‘Ice Cubes’

Rachel Hill is a phenomenal talent. Her single ‘Ice Cubes’ has been officially released today, 11th March 2022, and it is a single you need to hear this Spring.

An inviting acoustic guitar opens the song before Hill’s charming vocals capture the listener’s attention. The opening line is filled with character and charisma, and it sets the scene wonderfully as to what is to come.

‘Ice Cubes’ is a single that evolves before the listener. The layered vocals inject layers of vivid colour into the piece. We adore the string arrangement, which compliments the song perfectly.

Lyrically, the single strikes a more serious tone and Hill achieves the perfect balance of varied emotions in the piece. ‘Ice Cubes’ is a cleverly arranged song that keeps the audience on their toes. What an exciting songwriter Hill is.

Vittorio Tondo

‘Ice Cubes’ was recorded at Tileyard, London, by producer Vittorio Tondo. The duo has created a single that puts Rachel Hill as an artist to watch in 2022. She is making music with a personality, and we look forward to hearing what will come next.

Hill cites her influences as coming from artists such as The Staves, Gabrielle Aplin, Birdy, Phoebe Bridgers, Orla Gartland, Joni Mitchell, Billie Eilish, and Julien Baker. We can hear these muses coming through on ‘Ice Cubes’ but make no mistake; Hill is making music all of her own.

Forthcoming Album

We are excited to see that ‘Ice Cubes’ is the debut single to be taken from Hill’s forthcoming album, which is due for release in 2022. However, we are told there are further singles to come before the full album release, so make sure to follow Hill’s socials to be the first to hear about new releases.

‘Ice Cubes’ is available to stream now from the link below; enjoy!
