Radical West – ‘One Year Later’
Las Vegas-based band Radical West have released their superb album ‘One Year Later’. It is a ten-track Americana masterpiece.
The title track opens the record to a soulful vocal performance and gorgeous keys. We adore the addition of the full band, which sets the song alight. The unexpected chordal progressions capture the listener’s attention and hold it effortlessly.
‘Reaction’ is a fantastic song with staccato chord changes and melodic bass which is set to an infectious hook. ‘New Ordinary’ has gorgeous punchy production that injects luscious colour into the piece.
In addition. ‘The Other Side’ is a funky and memorable song that will have you reaching for the repeat button. ‘Wherever You Will Be’ closes the release to an upbeat and intoxicating groove.

‘One Year Later’ was recorded at Wackerman Studios in Las Vegas, and produced by Robert Katz (Imagine Dragons, Madonna, Rhianna, Elton John, Celene Dion, The Killers).
The team has crafted a skilful and intelligently composed, and arranged album. It is a wonderful piece of art that puts Radical West as musicians to look out for in 2022.
Radical West say about the recording process, “The album was recorded with many traditional recording techniques in mind. We wanted to sound organic and create a sound that was reminiscent of a band vs a solo act.” They continue, “Each member’s unique skills are showcased in various ways throughout the album.” Objective achieved!
Band Members
Radical West comprises of band members Cameron Dettman, Sawyer Schnieder, Zach Ellingson, Lonny Blank and Spencer King. They are a formidable group of musicians who complement each others playing styles and bounce off one another’s performances.
