RavenRain – ‘Don’t Back Down’
London-based musician RavenRain has released the magnificent single ‘Don’t Back Down’, this February 2021. It is an electronic-pop release that needs to be heard!
Atmospheric synths open the release before the mysterious and charming vocals drop. They instantly take the lead of the song and thoroughly engage the listener.
As the catchy chorus enters, the song is in full flow. We adore the addictive nature of the chorus; it is one that will have you reaching for the repeat button.
In addition, we love the mix, master and production of ‘Don’t Back Down’. Every part of the layered instrumentation has its own space in the mix and shines wonderfully!
RavenRain says about this superb release, “I’m a kpop inspired artist, so there is also an element of rap in the song. 2020 has been a difficult year for everyone; with this song, I wanted to address the darkness and pain that the events in 2020 brought to us but also I wanted to give a ‘feeling’ of hope and courage to the listeners.”
She continues, “2020 gave us the chance to reflect on what we really want to do with our lives, I spent the year focusing on developing myself as a person and musician, and this will reflect in my next upcoming releases throughout 2021.”
Influences
RavenRain cites her influences as coming from artists such as Halsey, Lady Gaga, and Celine Dion. We can hear these musicians coming through on ‘Don’t Back Down’, but make no mistake, RavenRain is making music all of her own!
So make sure you make a note of the name RavenRain, it may be the first time you have heard it, but we are sure it will not be the last!
