Roadkeeper – ‘Enemy Mine’
Texas-based band Roadkeeper have released the superb single ‘Enemy Mine’, in January 2021. It is a dream-pop release that will have you reaching for the repeat button!
Atmospheric synths open the release. They are enticing and pave the way for the full band to enter. The band fill the sonic spectrum with colour and texture, illuminating the listener too.
We adore the punchy drums, dreamy guitars and characterful vocals. The main melody is memorable and stays with the listener long after the music has finished. In addition, the addictive nature of ‘Enemy Mine’ sets Roadkeeper as a band to watch this 2021.
Roadkeeper says about the release, “The lyrics to ‘Enemy Mine’ were written about the far-right radicalisation of vulnerable young people in the U.S. by white nationalist professional pundits who are fed viewers and readers by algorithms on social media and YouTube.”
They continue, “There is an organised effort to convert impressionable young people into radical white supremacists and encourage them to undertake radical action against marginalised people and progressive political movements.”
Band’s Appeal
Roadkeeper are a band who do not shy away from the big topics. They confront them head-on with intelligence and grace, and this is a big part of the band’s appeal.
‘Enemy Mine has been produced, recorded and mixed by aka John Hetherington and mastered by John Naclerio at Nada Mastering. The team has done an excellent job creating a single which is attention-grabbing with a message that needs to be heard.
We are so thrilled to have heard ‘Enemy Mine’ and very much look forward to following what the band will do next.
Until then, ‘Enemy Mine’ is available from the link below, enjoy!
