Norwegian artist Robert Vendetta has released his excellent second album ‘Out Of My League’, on the 24th April 2020.
It is an outstanding release with many great songs on it. ‘Check Mate’ opens the album with an atmospheric piano. Vendetta’s vocals are warm and inviting with a touch of melancholy in their delivery. As the song evolves, the listener is drawn further into its compelling nature.
We really enjoyed ‘Diamond’ for its upbeat and driving nature. Layered and varied instrumentation creates an addictive foundation for the lively vocals to spring from. ‘Local threat’ is intriguing from the get-go with Vendetta’s trademark enticing lyrical performance. ‘Out Of My League’ is again another unique switch in vibe. This keeps the album feeling fresh and thoroughly addictive!
Vendetta says about the release, “‘Headed Out Of My League’ is about moving up, to bigger stages. To get to prove oneself to a larger audience. Disguised as a kinda love story between a working-class hero and the upper-class girl he wins in the end.”
Vendetta cites his influences as Gabriella Cilmi, Selena Gomez, Gin Wigmore, James Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Julio. We can hear these inspiring artists coming through in the music but make no mistake, Robert Vendetta is making music all of his own. We are sure that ‘Headed Out Of My League’ will please existing Robert Vendetta fans, while simultaneously winning him an army of new ones too.
‘Out Of My League’ is the follow-up album to Vendetta’s debut album ‘Miss Martinez’. Judging by the strength of ‘Headed Out Of My League’ we can not wait to check out Vendetta’s back catalogue too! Make sure you add this magnificent release to your playlist this weekend. It is a thoroughly addictive listen!
