Rocket Horse – ‘Kryptonite’

Rocket Horse is a band you need to know about this Spring. Their latest single, ‘Kryptonite’, was released in January, and it is an alternative-country classic in the making.

A warm and enticing opening greets the listener. We adore the evolution of the instrumentation, which starts gently and quickly escalates into a compelling melodic rock-fuelled song.

As the vocals enter, they masterfully take the reins of the single. We adore the country twang in the vocalists’ performance which injects the luscious country element into the piece.

The vocal performance is compelling, and Rocket Horse create a harmonious balance between the vocals and instrumentation, with everything having its own space in the mix. ‘Kryptonite’ has been intelligently arranged and produced. What an exciting band Rocket Horse are!

Rocket Horse say about this stunning release, “This song can relate to anyone who would do almost anything to save ‘love’, except for one thing.” When asked about the vibe of the single, the duo said, “The sound is both Country, and Rock influenced and leans nicely on both.”

Band Members

Rocket Horse is comprised of band members Brian Myk (founder) – lyrics and melodies, and Peter Cleff – instrumentation and vocals. They are both excellent musicians in their own right, but the magic happens when they come together.

South Africa

Interestingly, ‘Kryptonite’ was recorded in South Africa. The band members are geographically situated worlds away. One is in the United States and the other in South Africa. However, their physical distance does not stop them from making exciting and compelling music!

So make sure you add ‘Kryptonite’ to your new music playlist this week. Rocket Horse is an interesting and driven duo making exciting music that needs to be heard to be fully appreciated.
