‘Feelings of Dying Alone’ is the emotional and hard-hitting single from Welwyn Garden City-based musician, Sam Baird. Released officially on 1/5/20, it is a wonderful single with the proceeds being donated to NHS Charities -Together Covid-19 Urgent Appeal Fund.
A staccato guitar opens the release swiftly accompanied by Baird’s emotive vocals. Bass and a second guitar join in with a kick drum until an attention-grabbing band sound kicks in. An electric solo adds extra layers of character to the piece too. The instrumentation cuts away again for the second verse creating a rise and fall in the piece. We enjoyed the chorus which is catchy and stays with the listener long after the music has ended.
Baird says, “I was originally planning to release this as the principal single from my upcoming debut album. However, in light of the recent pandemic, the album release has been delayed. I have been able to bring forward the release of this single so that I can support frontline NHS Workers and Volunteers.” He continues, “All the proceeds from this single are being donated to NHS Charities Together Covid-19 Urgent Appeal Fund to help support the wellbeing of the frontline staff during this crisis.”
‘Feelings of Dying Alone’ is simply a brilliant song. It is filled with colour, character and charm. With the proceeds going to such an important cause, we can not recommend it enough. Baird is a musician who is using his platform to help others, and we feel honoured to be able to champion him.
