Stuart Pearson – ‘Mojave’
Los Angeles-based artist Stuart Pearson has released the superb album ‘Mojave’ in October 2021. It is the second in a series of Dark Americana releases from Pearson, and we can not wait to hear more!
‘Like A House With Broken Windows’ opens the release to Pearson’s characterful-filled vocals. He is a storyteller who makes the listener stand up and pay attention. We adore the gorgeous string arrangement that is compelling and exhilarating in equal measure.
‘As They Are Digging Your Grave (or are they digging mine?)’ is an addictive and thrilling song set to a memorable hook. The vocal performance reminds us of Johnny Cash. Simply Superb!
In addition, ‘One Cut’ is a stand out track. It features Hunter Lowry’s soulful vocals, which takes the album in a new direction, keeping the listener on their toes. ‘Dance Skeletons Dance’ closes the release to an upbeat ending, leaving the listener wanting more!
Pearson says about the songs on the album, “These are collections of sepia-toned, dog-eared vistas of America’s struggles with sin and redemption.”
He continues,” ‘Mojave’ is full of murder ballads, songs of bad decisions, bad people and bad consequences.” You could say the album is primarily bad by that account, but it is simply not true! Instead, ‘Mojave’ is filled with exciting and intriguing songs that will have you reaching for the repeat button.
One thing is for sure, Stuart Pearson is a charismatic troubadour who is making music that breaks the mould. He is an intricate storyteller whose charisma and charm shines through.
So make sure you add ‘Mojave’ to your essential listening playlist this weekend. Stuart Pearson is an exhilarating artist who is here to stay.
