Teething Veils – ‘Canopy Of Crimson’
Hailing from Washington, DC, Teething Veils are a band making waves this summer 2020. Their latest album ‘Canopy Of Crimson’, is an indie-folk release that needs to be heard!
‘A House After a Hurricane’ opens the release, and it is attention-grabbing from the get-go. We adore the charismatic vocals, the lyrics tell a story and take the listener on a journey.
We love ‘Littleton Mill’, its laid back vibe is intoxicating, and again, the lyrics are compelling. Also, the gorgeous string arrangement compliment the haunting vocal performance.
‘Everything Foul Rained Down’ is a wonderfully composed song. The gracious backing instrumentation forms a solid foundation for the vocals to shine. The title track ‘Canopy Of Crimson’ closes the release and leaves the listener wanting more!
Teething Veils are comprised of band members, Kevin Buckholdt (drums), Hannah Burris (viola), Craig Garrett (bass), and Greg Svitil (guitar, piano, voice). They are all excellent musicians in their respective fields but, when they come together, magic happens.
‘Canopy Of Crimson’ was recorded and mixed at Tonal Park in Takoma Park, by Don Godwin (Too Free, Clear Channel, Anna Connolly, and the Zlatne Uste Balkan Brass Band).
Teething Veils say about working with Godwin, “The band opted to record with Don after hearing the tones and textures of Anna Connolly’s “After Thoughts” LP, which Don had recorded at Tonal Park.” Together, the group have done an excellent job in creating a piece of art that will stand the test of time.
Released officially on Etxe Records, ‘Canopy Of Crimson’ is a classic in the making. We are so pleased to have discovered this exciting and driving band and very much look forward to hearing what they will release next!
