Blackpool based trio The NonStick Pans, released their infectious latest single ‘Jennifer String’ in March 2020.
A marching rhythm section and jangly guitars set the scene in the wonderful opening. Luscious harmonies and engaging melodies all drive the single along. Beatles influences come through in the music, which makes for a much loved, familiar sound. We love the big chorus and skilful guitar solo; both are exciting and exhilarating.
The band say, “‘Jennifer String’ is a new animated ‘Yellow Submarine’-inspired music video by The NonStick Pans that follows the mundane life of the ‘String’ family. A melodic and driving power-pop song with flavours of the of the ’60s and ’90s.”
There is also a stunning video which accompanies the release. Attention-grabbing graphics support the unique and acclaimed music. Scenes from the bands’ hometown of Blackpool can be seen in colourful 1960’s inspired backdrop. Leszek Mozga has created the animated video. The collective have done an excellent job in creating a stylised piece of art.
The NonStick Pans are led by Lancashire born singer-songwriter, comedian and actor; Peter Rugman. Together, they have created a sound that is rich and contagious. Their infectious melodies are destined to have you reaching for the repeat button.
Previously, The NonStick Pans have released their debut album ‘Nineteen Sixty Four’. It was met with critical acclaim and inspired a growing, devoted fan base who appreciate the band for their melodic, retro arrangements and tight, California-inspired harmonies.
Make sure you give ‘Jennifer String’ a listen this week. The NonStick Pans are an inspiring band with a bright future, and we can not wait to hear what they will do next.
