The Northeast Collective – ‘Lafayette’
Hailing from Long Beach, The Northeast Collective is an indie-rock musician whose latest release ‘Lafayette’ is a classic in the making.
Firstly a gorgeous electric guitar opens the release, the full band drops and the single is instantly enticing. We adore The Northeast Collective’s charming vocals, they effortlessly guide the track along injecting their addictive character into the song.
We love the layered guitars which dance around one another in the background. They create harmony and texture within the piece. Furthermore, the chorus is memorable and will have the audience reaching for the repeat button. In addition, we love the change in tempo during the track, the rise and fall is wonderful. We have added ‘Lafayette’ to our FV Music Blog Spotify playlist listen here.
The Northeast Collective says about the release, “The song was written directly after weeks on the road. Feelings of homesickness and discontentment were bubbling up on the road, and I felt as though simply getting home would fix all my problems.”
He continues, “Upon arriving home, I began to realize that I was just missing the tour. I discovered that in my heart, I wasn’t allowing myself to be happy simply chasing after thrills and always trying to rely on external forces to be my source of happiness. ‘Lafayette’ explores finding happiness within yourself and searching for meaning in the wrong places.”
We are thrilled to see that ‘Lafayette’ is taken from The Northeast Collective’s highly anticipated EP ‘If I Can Get Home’, which is due for release in October 2020.
So make sure you add ‘Lafayette’ to your weekend playlist. To conclude, The Northeast Collective is an exciting artist who is on the way up. We look forward to the full EP release!
