The Passing Sages – ‘Burnin’ Up’ EP
Hailing from Fife, Scotland, The Passing Sages are a formidable six-piece group. Their latest EP ‘Burnin’ Up’ is a must-hear release this winter 2020.
The title-track opens the EP and is instantly captivating from the get-go. The disco-funk feel is intoxicating. In addition, we adore the charismatic vocals, which further draws the listener in. The chorus is infectious and will have the audience singing along in no time!
We adore ‘Wonderful Person’. From the melodic and welcoming opening, we were hooked! The layered vocals are filled with colour, and the rhythm section features a luscious texture too.
‘Kindest Boy’ hears a change in tempo and a shift in the direction of the EP. We adore this change of the vibe, The Passing Sages are continually keeping the listener on their toes. ‘Octave Higher’ has an intoxicating feel; it will have you reaching for the repeat button!
The Passing Sages formed in 2017 and have gone from strength to strength ever since. They have grown in numbers along the way and ‘Burnin’ Up’ is a culmination of four years hard graft.
Band Members
The band are comprised of band members Holly Clark – vocals, Carrie Forgan – vocals, Nic Holson – guitar, Mr Clyne – bass, Sean Priestley – drums and Daniel Keay – keys. They are clearly excellent musicians in their own right, but when they come together, magic happens!
We are so thrilled to have discovered ‘Burnin’ Up’. It is an EP with a lot of heart and soul. In addition, it is a release that needs to be heard this winter 2020.
So make sure you add The Passing Sages to your weekday playlist, they are a band on the up, and we very much look forward to hearing what will come next!
