The Thing With Feathers – ‘Midwest Daydreams’
Hailing from Nashville, The Thing With Feathers is an indie rock band that has released their excellent latest single ‘Midwest Daydreams’ in July 2020.
Firstly, a compelling beat opens the release before the attractive vocals captivate the audience. We love the driving melodies which are thoroughly addictive throughout.
The chorus is memorable and driving, staying with the listener long after the music has finished. Also, the guitar solo is layered and filled with texture and colour. Utterly compelling. We have added ‘Midwest Daydreams’ to our FV Music Blog Playlist too!
The Thing With Feathers say about the release, “‘Midwest Daydreams’ examines the frustration brought on by an indecisive partner and the toll it can take on both sides: “Forgive me if I cross a line but I’m tired of this conversation / I don’t believe you’re gonna say what you want / I’m down on my knees, and I think you’re gone.”
Influences
The Thing With Feathers cites their influences as artists such as Coldplay, The 1975, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. We can hear these coming through on ‘Midwest Daydreams’ but make no mistake, The Thing With Feathers is making music all of their own!
Previously, the bands single ‘Figure It Out’ gained over 400K streams on Spotify alone. This, in turn, grew the band’s international fanbase. We can not wait for live shows to resume and hope a tour is on the cards for The Thing With Feathers when it does.
So make sure to add ‘Midwest Daydreams’ to your weekday playlist. The Thing With Feathers is an exciting band who are set for big things, and we look forward to hearing what will come next.
