Trevor James Tillery – ‘Possessor’

‘Possessor’ is the latest single release from Nashville-base artist, Trevor James Tillery. It is a downtempo electronic release that will have you reaching for the repeat button!

Darting synths open the release. Engaging from the get-go, an electric guitar enters, underpinned by a vinyl crackle creating texture within the piece. Tillery’s emotive vocals breakthrough and masterfully guide the single along.

There is a slow build which lets the song evolve with the listener. As the beat drops the single is in full flow, and we adore the textured backing instrumentation. It is innovative and keeps the audience’s attention. One thing is for sure, ‘Possessor’ is a complex and intriguing single.

Tillery says about the release,” ‘Possessor’ is the third single from a series of singles I have been releasing this year. The song is an icy, atmospheric, downtempo track. Lyrically, I was in a dark place struggling with my identity and trying to detach it from music. Realizing that my identity is not just in music after I discovered that, my life turned around and the music got better.”

In addition to the release, Tillery is planning to do live streams on his Instagram account to support the single. Previously this superb artist had his track ‘Dissonance’ premiered by Zane Lowe, and his rework of Blur’s ‘Song 2’ reached number 12 on Spotify’s US Viral 50 chart.

Tillery is an exciting artist who is destined for big things in 2020. Based on the strength of ‘Possessor’, we look forward to listening to his back catalogue too!

So make sure you check out this exciting artist this week. Trevor James Tillery is an artist who is just getting started, and we very much look forward to hearing what will come next!
