Dr AdeN HoD Explores Music, Poetry and Personal Storytelling on ‘Q-NativeIm’
Dr AdeN HoD brings music, poetry and scientific curiosity together on ‘Q-NativeIm’, an independently created, 11-track album spanning acoustic rock, blues, alternative rock and dark folk. Based between Austria and Italy, the singer-songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist draws on an international background and a parallel career in scientific research, bringing an unconventional perspective to his creative work.
Created in Trieste, the album features music and lyrics written by Dr AdeN HoD, who also performed the instruments and recorded every vocal part himself. That hands-on approach gives the project a deeply personal foundation, with one artist shaping its stories, arrangements and performances. His distinctive baritone voice anchors a collection exploring human emotions, relationships and existential questions.
Expressive Performances and Atmospheric Arrangements
Opening track ‘Bubble (of) Time’ introduces the album with punchy instrumentation, energetic performances and a charismatic delivery. Double-tracked vocals bring vivid colour to the chorus, while magnetic solo guitar passages give the arrangement an additional spark. It is an engaging introduction that immediately draws the listener into Dr AdeN HoD’s musical world.
‘Song 4 Peace’ takes the album in a fresh direction, pairing heartfelt, warming lyrics with another expressive performance. The songwriting offers an inviting contrast to the opener while maintaining the personality that connects the release.
On ‘Dark Moon’, textured guitar work and thought-provoking lyrics create an absorbing atmosphere. Subtle percussion supports the arrangement without overwhelming its finer details, leaving room for the instrumentation to breathe. As the track develops, the solo guitar introduces gorgeous melodies, adding further depth and giving the piece a compelling sense of progression.

‘Broken Brain’ is another moving moment. Its intelligent storytelling takes centre stage, supported by backing instrumentation that gently carries the song forward. There is an effective balance between lyrical expression and musical restraint, allowing the narrative space to connect.
Our favourite track arrives towards the end of the album. ‘Bila Juga’ combines gorgeous guitar work with an authentic, engaging performance. Its stripped-back arrangement lets the songwriting shine, demonstrating how much can be communicated when a song is given room to speak for itself. The simplicity of the presentation makes it particularly memorable.
Finally, ‘Domovina (Parodia)’ closes the collection with a melancholic feel and brooding melodies. Its gentle fade-out provides a thoughtful finishing touch, allowing the atmosphere to linger as the album draws to a close.
