Salsola – ‘Deconstruction’

Released officially in February 2020, ‘Deconstruction’ is the incredible latest single by Stockton-on-Tees based band, Salsola.

An acoustic and electric guitar opens the single, coming from each side of the sonic spectrum they are hugely impactful. Bass and drums kick in with a melodic lead electric guitar too. Vocals enter, filled with emotion and heart. Moving guitar solos appear throughout the piece, each with its own colour and texture, taking the song into new directions.

Lyrically, ‘Deconstruction’ is incredibly relatable. We think this is a big part of Salsola’s charm. They have the ability to connect to the listener. The chorus is melodic and driving with big guitars and drums, making a huge sound and fully engrossing the listener.

Salsola say, “The track ‘Deconstruction’ has a more mature and moody sound compared to previous releases. The track retains the bands signature layers of fuzzy guitar and feedback and takes influence from George Orwell’s’ 1984′ and Aldous Huxley’s ‘Brave New World’ in describing a dystopian future that seems closer than ever.”

Salsola are comprised of band members, Vicky Wright – vocals and guitar, Peter Wright – guitar, Kev Kaye – bass, and Luke Murray – drums. The band were formed in 2017. Their Debut EP ‘An Ordinary Thrill’ was released on 2nd June 2018, with the first track ‘Give Me Love’ given multiple plays on BBC Tees introducing. Salsola launched their second single ‘Cass’ with a sell-out headline show in their hometown Stockton.

So make sure you make a note of Salsola. They are a band with a big future, and we can not wait to hear what they will do next. Until then, check out ‘Deconstruction’ from the link below.
