Indie folk musician Savannah Philyaw has released her superb latest album ‘A Whisper in the Wind’. It is a gorgeous collection of songs which are destined to have you reaching for the repeat button!
An upbeat opening greets the listener. ‘Go Alone’ is an expressive and attention-grabbing song, filled with layered instrumentation. The changes in tempo keep the listener on their toes. We adore the layered vocal opening of ‘Running to You’. The kick drum feels like the heartbeat of the song and Philyaw’s charming vocals mesmerise the listener.
‘Temporary’ takes a slower tempo, and the guitar and vocal opening let the song shine in the light in which it was written. The excellent songwriting comes through and captures the listener effortlessly. ‘Grateful for You’ is a superb closing song, leaving the listener wanting more!
Philyaw has shared the stage with artists such as CAM, Tyrone Wells, Howie Day, Kate Voegele, Tyler Hilton, and One Tree Hill’s Bethany Joy Lenz. In addition to writing with Multi-Platinum songwriter, Michael Natter, she co-wrote her latest song ‘Somehow You Were There for Me’ with Eagles songwriter, Jack Tempchin.
This talented artist won ‘Best Singer-Songwriter’ in the Temecula Valley Music Awards 2017 and has a collection of songs placed with Warner Brother TV Productions that have been used in TV shows such as Teen Titans Go! and Unikitty. Her album is currently nominated for ‘Best Pop Album’ in the 2020 San Diego Music Awards.
Philyaw is a phenomenally talented artist who is destined for big things in 2020. We adore ‘A Whisper in the Wind’, and we can not wait to hear what she will do next.
